Once you have created your survey, you will be directed to the Survey Setup screen. This is where you configure the key parameters that determine how your project will function. The setup screen is divided into several sections:
Project Type #
This defines how your study will run. You can choose between:
Survey #
A traditional survey where participants respond to your questionnaire directly. This is the default selected option.
- Supports optional AI-powered tools such as dynamic probing and follow-ups.
- Recommended for most structured survey projects.
Agent #
An AI agent conducts interviews using your questionnaire as a conversational guide.
- The respondent engages in a dialogue with the AI rather than filling out a standard form.
- Useful when you want more natural, interview-style responses.
Stage Indicator #
This shows the current lifecycle stage of your survey. There are two possible states:
New #
- The questionnaire is still being coded, and the sample is defined.
- The survey can be tested, but it cannot collect live responses yet.
- Test responses are stored temporarily and do not incur costs.
Active #
- The survey is now live and able to collect real responses.
- At this stage, the structure of the questionnaire is locked — edits are no longer possible.
- This ensures data consistency during fieldwork.
Languages #
Surveys can support multiple languages to reach a wider audience.
- The default language you selected during survey creation is always included.
- From here, you can add additional languages, allowing respondents to choose the version that best fits them.
- Each language version will maintain the same structure but with localized wording.
Survey Links #
Every survey is automatically assigned two unique URLs:
Live Link #
- The link you distribute to actual participants once the survey is active.
- All responses submitted here are stored in your dataset and billed normally.
Test Link #
- Used during the testing phase to preview and validate the questionnaire.
- Responses here do not count toward your quotas or billing.
